Flex Moving Inc Terms & Conditions

 
  • Pricing is subject to change based on availability and is not finalized until the reservation is confirmed with a deposit.
  • All quotes are valid for 24 hours.
  • Gratuity/tips for the crew is not included in the pricing. We recommend 15-20% for a 5-star service.
  • If a Certificate of Insurance (COI) is required, the client is responsible for providing Flex Moving with the correct COI details.
  • The price is subject to change if the date/time of reservation is changed.
  • If additional items need to be moved – price is subject to change.
  • A stairs charge will be applied if any items cannot fit in the elevator.
  • If a storage bed requires full disassembly and reassembly a fee of $100-$200 applies for handling.
  • If an armoire requires full disassembly and reassembly a fee of $200-$450 applies for handling.
  • If a bookcase requires full disassembly and reassembly a fee of $100-150 applies for handling.
  • If any items exceed a weight of 300 lbs or require special protection such as marble, granite or glass pieces additional fees of $50 – $400 may apply.
  • If any items cannot go in or out of the apartment, additional cost may apply for additional labor. If Flex Moving services cannot help, it is the customers’ responsibility to make separate arrangements.
  • We reserve the right not to move any items not listed and not paid for in the original contract.
  • The minimum volume charge for moves/storage is 250 cubic feet. If the volume of the move/storage decreases below 250 cubic feet, no further refunds will apply. The minimum for long-distance moves is 300 cubic feet.
  • Cancellation: 3 days’ notice prior to the move date is required to obtain a refund of the deposit and avoid penalties.
  • Rescheduling: 2-day notice prior to the move date is required to avoid penalties.
  • Price includes blankets and tape for furniture protection, dollies for the duration of the move.
  • The price already includes all fuel, mileage and toll charges.
  • Customers must empty all their furniture before the move.
  • Customers must unplug any electronic components – movers will not unplug or install any electronic components.
  • Flammable or hazardous property or items such as paints, propane tanks, oil and gas containers cannot be moved by Flex Moving Inc.
  • Refrigerated food or drinks cannot be moved by Flex Moving Inc.
  • Customers or their legal representative (a power of attorney must be provided prior to the move) must be present at all stages of the move. If not, customers must acknowledge in writing before the move that Flex Moving will not be responsible for any claims regarding forgotten, misplaced, damaged, lost items or any such claims from buildings management.
  • A waiting time charge is applicable if there are any delays over 30 minutes caused by the customer or building management. A fee of $100 -$250 will be applied.
  • If there is no parking within 200 ft of the service entrance or service elevator, an excessive pushing/carrying fee may apply ($150-$250 depending on volume and distance).
  • At the destination, which requires parking permits such as Hoboken NJ and private parking spaces, it is customer responsibility to obtain the permit.
  • A storage visit appointment incurs a $40.00 charge, and a self-move out incurs a $350 fee.
  • Flex Moving Inc is not responsible for delays due to road traffic conditions or buildings time restrictions. 


Coverage and valuation

 
  • Flex Moving Inc provides customers who have booked and paid the deposit for their move a Certificate of Insurance (COI) if required by the building’s management. Customers are responsible for obtaining the COI requirements from the management and providing them to Flex Moving Inc via email at least 24 hours before the move.
  • By default Flex Moving Inc provides free basic coverage of $0.60 per pound per article for customer’s belongings as required by the Department of Transportation for local, long distance and storage moves.
  • For the hourly rate the coverage is $0.30 per pound per article also as required by the Department of Transportation.
  • Customers should be aware that particle board furniture (such as Ikea furniture) is designed to be shipped unassembled in a factory box. Chips and dents are not usually repairable. They are not built to withstand normal stresses of the move as an assembled unit. Therefore, Flex Moving Inc is not responsible for any claims or damages to these items, due to inherent vice.
  • Flex Moving will not hold on to any responsibility for any damages that may occur if the customer chooses to pack the TV themselves.
  • All the claims must be submitted via email within 30 days after the move is completed.
  • Unless otherwise provided, the following property will not be accepted for shipment: Bank bills, coin or currency, deeds, notes, drafts or valuable papers of any kind, jewelry, postage stamps, stamp collections, revenue stamps, letters or packets of letters, precious stones, or articles manufactured therefrom or perishable articles. Should such articles come into the possession of the carrier without his knowledge, responsibility for safe delivery will not be assumed.
  • TV additional protection available at $250 – up to $1000 TV value (off-market price) – if not added the TV is valued at basic insurance which comes with the move at $0.60 cents per lbs per damaged article.
  • PELOTON BIKE – disassembling and reassembling of the screen available at $250 –additional protection on PELOTON covers up to $1000 in repairs – if not added the PELOTON is valued at basic insurance which comes with the move at $0.60 cents per pound per article.
  • All refunds of items covered with the basic coverage of $0.60 cents per pound per article are subject to a maximum of up to $500 PER ITEM and the refund can’t exceed the price of the move.
  • Any additional coverage with a 3rd party insurance company MUST be purchased at least 24 hours prior to the move and CAN’T be added on under any circumstances the day of the move. 


Payment instructions


  • To reserve a moving time and date customers are required to pay a deposit of $50 (for the local move/storage up to $1000 of the total move) and $100 (for the local/long distance/storage move over $1000) which is subtracted from the total cost of your move. You can complete the deposit over the secure payment link by using Visa, Master Card, Discovery or ask your sales representative for other options.
  • You have 24 hours to complete your deposit and secure your flat rate fee or your quote will be subject to change due to current availability.
  • For Straight Long Distance moves we do require half payment to be collected at the pickup and the other half at the delivery location. For affordable Long-Distance options, we do require the full payment after the pickup is completed.
  • Flex Moving will provide the customers with notice of 24-48H upon the delivery and the customer or his/her legal representative (a power of attorney must be provided prior to the move) MUST BE present at all times of move stages. If not, the customer MUST ACKNOWLEDGE in writing prior to the move that Flex Moving will not be responsible for any claims regarding the forgotten, misplaced, damaged, lost items or any such claims from buildings management.
  • If the customer is not able to be present we will need them to inform us with the full name and phone number of the person that will receive the items.
  • The deposit is fully refundable up to three business days before the move day and it must be requested by email only. Allow for 7 business days for the process for Flex Moving INC to refund your deposit.
  • Once we receive the deposit our team will lock the date and time on our schedule and assign a moving crew, truck and all moving material for your specific requirements.
  • By making a deposit with Flex Moving Inc you agree not to share the quote provided by our team with other companies.
  • The remaining balance of your invoice for the moves can be completed after the move is done. That can be done over the payment link by using Visa, Master Card, Discovery, Zelle, cash. You must provide an outstanding balance if you choose cash payment to the foreman on arrival. If the payment is not made for the Cash option upon arrival the moving crew cannot commence with our services.
